Historic Pool Forge
Nestled into the hillside along the Conestoga Creek, sits the once vibrant iron plantation called Poole Forge, a spectacular 1700's Iron Masters mansion, paymasters house, tenant houses, lime kilns and covered bridge dating from 1859. Slater Construction and Restoration LLC was contracted to restore the Iron Masters mansion.
This restoration entailed structural repairs, repairs to the soffit and facia, complete exterior painting, a new wood shingle roof, and dormer repairs. We also replaced all windows with Marvin clad replacements installed in a new mahogany frame. This unique system was designed by Slater Construction LLC specifically for wood frame windows installed in stone openings.
